Dr Lekha Pandit is a professor of Neurology and Director of Centre for Advanced Neurological Research, at Nitte University, Mangalore, India.

She is the founder/director of the Mangalore demyelinating disease registry (MANNDIR), dedicated to diagnosis and management of multiple sclerosis & related disorders among  resource constrained patients in Southern India.

Her research interests include the following -  development of diagnostic live cell based assays, detection of novel biomarkers and the study of genetic, environmental and microbiome associations for MS and NMOSD in India.

Dr Pandit has been a recipient of the Fulbright-Nehru fellowship for academic and professional excellence, is an awardee of the National Academy of Science, India and has authored over 225 publications in peer reviewed journals.

She is the current secretary of the Pan Asian committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (PACTRIMS).
